A Beautiful Du’a for Every Time of Need
There are moments in life when we feel helpless. We work hard, make plans, and try our best, yet doors remain closed. At such times, the Qur’an teaches us to turn to Allah with complete trust and humility.
One of the most beautiful examples is the heartfelt du’a of Prophet Musa (Moses) عليه السلام, a prayer that continues to inspire millions of believers around the world.
The Qur’anic Du’a
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
Translation:
“My Lord, truly I am in need of whatever good You bestow upon me.”

The Story Behind This Powerful Supplication
Human nature teaches us to follow successful people. We admire those who overcome challenges, achieve greatness, and remain steadfast through difficulties. Among them is Prophet Musa عليه السلام.
There came a time when Prophet Musa عليه السلام had fled to the land of Madyan. He was alone in a foreign city. He had no family beside him, no wealth, no home, and no one to rely on except Allah.
After helping two women water their flock, he quietly moved into the shade and made this sincere du’a:
“My Lord, truly I am in need of whatever good You bestow upon me.”
Notice what he asked for.
He did not ask for money specifically.
He did not ask for food, a job, safety, or a home by name.
Instead, he asked Allah for every form of goodness, whether material, emotional, spiritual, or beyond what he could even imagine.
How Allah Answered His Prayer
The response from Allah was immediate and extraordinary.
Soon after making this du’a:
Prophet Musa عليه السلام was invited into a safe home.
He was given food after being hungry.
He was offered honorable employment.
He married into a righteous family.
He found security after living in fear.
He built a new life in a place where he knew no one.
Allah did not simply solve one problem.
He opened multiple doors of goodness that Prophet Musa عليه السلام could never have planned for himself.
This teaches us an incredible lesson:
When we ask Allah for goodness without limiting His mercy, He blesses us in ways beyond our imagination.
A Du’a We Should Memorize and Recite Often
Life brings unexpected challenges.
Sometimes we worry about our studies.
Sometimes we search for a job.
Sometimes parents worry about their children.
Sometimes families face financial difficulties.
At other times, we simply don’t know what is best for us.
